The Lord Mayor being presented with his hat by Susan Wood

Nicholas Anstee was elected as Lord Mayor of London by an assembly of liverymen, at the ceremony in Guildhall on the 29th. September. Following tradition, he was presented with his tricorn hat by the Feltmakers in the person of Master Feltmaker Susan Wood at the Mansion House on the 17th. November.  Susan was accompanied by the Wardens and the Clerk and the Lord Mayor was accompanied by the Lady Mayoress.

The hat then gets its first main official outing at the Lord Mayor’s Show, where he waves it in true fashion from the window of his ceremonial coach.
