On 20th May 2014 seven pairs of cricketers took part in The Feltmakers Pairs Cricket Competition at Amersham Cricket Club in Buckinghamshire. Under the watchful eye of our two umpires, Past Master Geoffrey Farr and Liveryman Richard Brumby, our pairs of cricketers showed remarkable skill and determination to try to win the Competition. Each pair bats, bowls and fields, with a complicated scoring system eventually producing the winning pair. This year the competition was won by Rob McLeod, husband of Assistant Sarah McLeod, and a guest with 38 points, with the winning points arising in the final over of play, whilst in second place was Renter Warden Peter Simeons and a guest with 33 points.
Afterwards, twenty eight players, spectators and guests enjoyed an excellent buffet supper in the cricket pavilion, followed by presentation of prizes to the winners by Past Master John Ray. The prizes were kindly donated by the Master, who had to travel abroad on the day of the event, which was organised by the Renter Warden with the assistance of Liveryman Simon Curtis.
