The Master’s golf day was held at Harpenden golf club on Wednesday 12th May. This was very well supported with over 20 golfers playing. Thanks go to all liverymen who brought a guest with them.
The weather was fine and the standard of golf was one of the best on record, with nearly all golfers achieving 20 stapleford points or more.
Master Susan wood presented her prizes as follows:
Court Assistant Edward Hutton won the tournament with 39 points and the second prize went to James Davis, a guest of Mike Winfield, with 36 points.
Nearest the pin was claimed by Gerry Higginson and the longest drive was won by Neil Edwards. Prizes were also won by Mike Winfield and Catherine Farr for the best out 9 and best in 9 respectively.
When the golf had been completed, everyone sat down to a first rate meal.
Liveryman Gerry Higginson is taking over the organisation of the golf day next year, and he will be choosing where the 2011 Masters Golf day will be held. This will be announced on this website when next year’s Members’ diary is published in October, so please see the livery web site then for further details.
