The Feltmakers entered a four man team for the 36 hole event which was played over the Old and New Courses at Walton Heath Golf Club on Thursday 16th May, in delightful spring weather. The course was in excellent condition despite torrential rain earlier in the week and is being prepared for the US Open qualifying on 27th May. The pairings were Geoffrey Vero and the Master, Anthony Phillips, together with Gerry Higginson and Jeremy Brassington.
It was an enjoyable day, playing alongside our livery friends. However, the golf did not match up to expectations and we finished well down the field. The Leathersellers prevailed this year on a countback from the International bankers – perhaps old money triumphs over new!
A note to members of the Feltmakers’ Company. We need to find some younger golfers to support the team over the coming year, so please contact us to register your interest in playing.
