Inter-livery golf 2015 - 2webThe Prince Arthur Cup dates from 1927 and is contested by 54 teams of four golfers from participating livery companies playing foursomes – it is apparently one of the largest one-day golf competitions in Europe! The competition is played over 36 holes at the Walton Heath Golf Club with a break for an excellent lunch between rounds. This year’s event was held on 21 May in sunny but fresh conditions.

Feltmakers 1 comprised Geoffrey Vero and Adrian Salmon and Feltmakers 2 comprised Gerry Higginson and Nicholas Lee. We were playing with teams from the Leathersellers and the Merchant Taylors.Inter-livery golf 2015 - 1web

The Leathersellers won the Cup and the Cordwainers were runners-up. Feltmakers 1 came 7th overall and were the best pair on the New Course in the morning. Feltmakers 2 brought up the rear in 91st place out of 106. On a combined basis, however, we came 21st out of 52 companies and so should be invited back next year.
