Bruce Fraser

Bruce was born in 1947 in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago and spent his ‘growing up years’ in the Midwest.  He was educated at Northwestern University where he achieved a BSc degree as well as an MBA.  Bruce’s professional career has spanned a rather diverse array of sectors, including investment/merchant banking in corporate finance and capital markets in both New York (Wall Street) and in London (The City) with firms such as JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers, in industry (in energy services, information technology and telecommunications—as CFO/FD of a number of early-stage venture capital-backed companies, again in both the US and the UK), and in education management (as Bursar of both Stowe School in the mid-1990’s, and since 2004, at Mill Hill School Foundation in North London).  Bruce is also a Governor of Kings School, Ely, a Trustee of the TreeHouse Trust (a national autism school and charity in North London), and is also a member of the Plans Committee of the Hurlingham Club. He is a member of the Pilgrims Society of the UK, as well as the Independent Schools Bursars Association.

Bruce is married to Pauline (who is English, and a teacher—and Bruce now enjoys dual citizenship), they have three children between them, and they live in Totteridge.  Bruce’s interests include sports of all kinds, but in particular tennis, skiing, sailing and fitness.
