Peter was brought up in Guildford and trained as a pharmacist at the Portsmouth School of Pharmacy.  He worked for Boots the chemist as a manager in Clifton, Bristol before buying his own business that he sold in 2000.  He works now as a self employed pharmacist in Bristol for the Bristol Primary Care Trust and for a few independent pharmacies.  He is married to Alison, daughter of the late Feltmaker, Robin Shirley, and they have two sons, Ben and Harry.  He enjoys spending time at their house in Cornwall, racing his Laser dingy, mountain biking and eating out in Bristol which apparently has more restaurants per head of population than any other city in Europe!

He recently retired as Honorary Treasurer of the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders’ Forum and lives in Dorset with his partner, Margaret. David has three children, all now grown up.
