Feltmakers’ Inter Livery Tennis Tournament 2007 |
|
2007 produced some glorious weather for the annual Inter-Livery tournament. It was again held at Queens Club, which is situated in one of London’s finest squares and plays host to some prestigious tennis tournaments, and was attended by teams from 14 different Livery Companies. For the first time in three years we were able to use the external shale courts and the organisers could monitor progress and top up the tan at the same time! The Tallow Chandlers triumphed again this year with Alexandra Kurkjian and her partner Andrew Creighton winning the Feltmakers’ Trophy, with Suzanne Came and Nick Fraser of the Goldsmiths in runner up position. In the Plate Competition a rematch of the previous year’s match saw mother and son team Mary and Tom Swanson of the Leathersellers avenge last year’s defeat by Gordon Edington and Paula Edmonds from the Chartered Surveyors. Dinner for 67 players and guests was held in the Presidents room with the prizes presented by Nick Heal, the Renter Warden.
